I am going to have to re-take some pictures of some cards and some other projects that I have made, because the pictures I did have just won't load up. So, please be patient...I will get some pictures of my cards up on this site :)!
Today, I had a bunch of errands I wanted to run...but it seems that there is a problem or two with that thought:
a) there is a storm lurking waiting to pounce
b) Ben (my husband), forgot to take out Isaac's car seat out of his truck.
So we are stuck home.
I am however, really hoping that the storm does not come because I am really really wanting to go out to my friends house (Isaac's girlfriends mom's place) tonight. She is also an avid, perhaps even addicted to card making as I am and is hosting a Stampin Up party...as we all know those parties can be dangerous. Dangerous that is to one's bank account :p!
I have added some pictures, and I hope you enjoy :)!
I am new at this blog thing, and wanted to try it out...I also wanted to create something for those who also share in this passion. I am going to find some pictures of my cards that I have made and post them on here for all of you to see. I guess you could say this group thing is under construction :)!
Talk to you all soon :)!
This is my first time doing a blog, but here goes my first attempt at it...if you have any advice that would be great too :D! Here is something for all you mother's out there to read, it is a book that I heard about on CBC radio during Maritime noon. It is called " Breaking the Good Mom Myth" by Alyson Schafer, I started to read it and couldn't put it down...or I should say when I had time to read the book I couldn't put it down. Potty training Ethan is taking high priority around our house these days :)!
Here are the top lame reasons we don't take time for ourselves (as moms):
1) "I work full-time and can't squeeze in another single thing"
2) "I just don't feel right in spending money on me, ever since I stopped earning my own salaray"
3) "I don't have childcare"
4) "My husband can't manage the children on his own"
5) "How would I get there? We are only a one car family"
6)" I don't have the energy"
Can you relate to any of these?? I could at least relate to 2 or 3 of these! Here is something else from that book...that I could really relate to:
"Do you always put your kids and family first and leave your needs last? Answer true or false to the following:
1) Your husband plays golf (or paintball if you are Ben) every weekend, but you woldn't even think of asking him to watch the kids while you went out somewhere you like to go. You don't want to impose on others for your recreation. It's not like you have to go afterall.
2) You make sure your kids have regular haircuts, dental appointments, annual checkups, and eye exams- but you don't do the same for yourself.
3) You don't prepare your favorite dishes because the others don't really like them...
4) You get up every night with the baby who cries like clockwork. You figure it's just as much hassle to wake your husband up as it is to go get the baby yourself.
5)your life seems busier than ever, but it also seems to be shrinking in the scope. The only aspect of your life getting any attention is work and dealing with running your family. Hobbies are non existent, friendships left fallow...
6). You feel guilty outsourching anything you could do yourself, since it could save the family a few bucks if you did some things yourself.
7) You're addicted to the adrenaline rush you are on. When you stop you crash and need a venti caramel latte to get through the afternoon, then a big glas of merlot to de-stress at the end of the day.
8) You're just not happy and you can't seem to put your finger on why.
9) You bought this book, but you feel badly about spending the money on yourself, and your still not sure when you will find the time to read it. "
hmmm...really made me think that is for sure!
